Sennelier L'esprit du Pastel 24cm x 32cm
The Sennelier L’Esprit du Pastel Pad is one of those "quietly excellent” tools that makes those media feel right under your fingers. It’s simple, portable, and designed to let you focus on drawing rather than fussing over paper limitations.
The 130 gsm, grained / felt-textured paper — not heavy board, but with enough tooth to grip pastel, charcoal, chalk or pencil nicely.
It has a neutral grey surface — a mid-tone ground that gives instant contrast whether you’re using light or dark pastels/charcoal — often nice for sketching values without laying down a base tone first.

Pages are interleaved with glassine to stop smudging or transferring.

24 x 32cm
For pastel, charcoal, Conte crayone
weight of paper 130gsm

  • 130 gsm grey, grained / felt-textured paper — not heavy board, but with enough tooth to grip pastel, charcoal, chalk or pencil nicely.
  • Neutral grey surface — a mid-tone ground that gives instant contrast whether you’re using light or dark pastels/charcoal — often nice for sketching values without laying down a base tone first.
  • 25 sheets per pad, spiral-bound — tidy, easy to carry around, and handy for quick sketches or studies.
  • Acid-free glassine interleaving between sheets — helps prevent smudging or pastel transfer between pages (great if you flip through or store the pad).
  • Made for dry media: pastel, charcoal, pencil, chalk — gives good "bite” for pigment, so your strokes stay where you put them instead of sliding off.
  • The grey, textured paper gives a mid-tone base — perfect if you like working with lights and darks, doing tonal sketches, or building up layers without needing a separate base tone.
  • Because it’s lighter weight (not heavy pastel board), it’s great for practice, studies, quick work, travel sketching or mixed media experimentation — rather than heavy layering or final pieces requiring thick paper.
  • Works well with charcoal, soft pastel, pastel pencil, chalk, pencil or conte — any dry medium that benefits from a bit of "grip” to hold pigment.
