Royal Sovereign Pencil Co

Formed after World War I from two British pencil manufacturers - The House of Arthur Johnson (est 1803) and E. Wolff & Son (est 1796) - Royal Soveriegn came about as an attempt by the two companies to regain their retail markets. They had abandoned their retail markets during the war as the Allied Governments were buying pretty much everything they made!

As well as pencils Royal Sovereign produce the massively popular Colour Shapers.  These are a great way to blend, apply colour or masking fluid or use for detailed work.

The original Chinagraph Pencil is perfect for marking china, glass or any other hard surface.

It is removeable with a cloth or tissue but will resist water (such as rain or spray) and the pencils are sharpenable (not a peel-off pencil).

Royal Sovereign is owned by West Design who have rebranded these pencils - West Design

Royal Sovereign Colour Shapers

Royal Sovereign Colour Shapers

These Colour Shapers are a unique tipped tool used for pastel blending as well as removing paint, shaping wax or clay or applying masking fluid.  Unlike the paper blenders these are easy to clean so there is no transferring of colours.  In several different shapes and sizes they are a must for pastel and charcoal artists.

The ivory tip is softer and more  suited to blending pencil, pastel & charcoal

The grey tip
is firmer and is for heavier body paints, glue, batik wax.

The black tip is extra firm and is ideal for
sculpting clay and polymer clays and sgraffito of heavy mediums.
